Sex Education
Massachusetts does not require that sex education be taught. There is currently a bill in the state legislature, the “Healthy Youth Act,” which requires that IF sex education is taught in Massachusetts schools, it is required to be medically accurate.
Massachusetts is an “opt-out” state, which means that every public school must notify the parents of the sex ed curriculum, and afford them the opportunity to “opt out.”
